I couldn’t tell you what the problem was but I can tell you it’s not good news. I ran out of smokes and needed a candy fix for my late night work session, so I sent the hubby on an errand to our local 7-11.
When he arrived there were three sheriff’s cars in the middle of the road, so he pulled the car in at the far end of the lot, so as not to interfere with the police questioning that was going on of a couple of intoxicated men. He got out of the car and proceeded to the door and was stopped by an officer, with his hand on his gun. Then all of them placed their hands on their holsters and stared at my sweet hubby.
I wonder how many tourists would venture back to Twain Harte again, if they are greeted that way by our men in blue (and tan) that way. It’s downright rude. My husband doesn’t look like a thug, he’s a respected businessman, who has never bothered anyone. I hope this isn’t a new Twain Harte we are seeing or that Valley crime is sweeping our way.
Late last summer an elder aunt was robbed in her own home (Merced) and just last month an 80+ year old cousin (Merced) had her home invaded, she was restrained, vandalized, robbed and her car stolen. Another family member had their house broken into by two car loads of thugs, last month as well.
Here’s hoping we have a nice relaxing summer here in the mountains. And whatever you do, don’t run out of cigarettes at 2 a.m.
