It appears that I haven’t posted for a complete year in Twain Harte Times. For that I apologize, I’ve been spending most of my time on Facebook. That will not longer be the case.
The Fall is my favorite time of year, with Winter a close second. I really hate Summer, I’m just not able to handle those hot temperatures any more and it gets hotter every year here in Twain Harte. I watch the temperature religiously checking in probably 50 times a day.
I used to love the snow, I’d get up at 4 or 5 a.m. just to take pictures of the snow before anyone soiled it with footprints or tire tracks some days. Oh, how I loved to traipse around in the snow. It was exhilarating. Now, I just get angry and try not to go out in it at all.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is hosting Trout Fest at Moccasin Creek Hatchery on Saturday, April 12th, from 9am to 1pm.
Trout Fest provides a hands-on opportunity, for all ages, to hone their fishing skills, learn about trout and the local hatchery.
Activities include knot tying, rigging, casting, cleaning fish, trout tasting, fish prints, trout touch pool, fly tying, dissection, aquatic insects, games, science activities and displays.
All activities are free and all equipment is provided. Actual fishing is limited to kids 15 years and under.
Moccasin Creek Hatchery is located at 15300 Hwy 49, at the junction of Hwy 49 and 120.

If you have ever eaten at Chick-fil-A, you will crave it forever. The members of our family are huge Chick-fil-A fans and since the closest Chick-fil-A to Twain Harte is in Elk Grove, I’ve decided to start a campaign to beg the company to open a franchise in Sonora, Modesto or Merced.
I’ve written to the company asking them to consider my request and I’m asking you to do the same. If you never tried Chick-fil-A, do make a point to visit a restaurant near you; Chicken lovers will be delighted with their products. If you would like to see a Chick-fil-A closer to home, visit Chick-fil-A online and tell them so.
Come to think of it if they opened up a restaurant at Yosemite National Park, we would have twice the incentive to visit there more often. Perhaps, we should ask?
