One Year for Molestation?

I don’t know about you but this really upsets me. We have a couple who were trusted baseball coaches – they plead guilty to FIVE counts of child molestation and they get a year.  This is wrong! What kind of a message are we sending?  That you can commit heinous crimes and get away with it.

A pair of former youth-baseball coaches pleaded guilty Tuesday in Tuolumne County Superior Court to several charges of child molestation.

Lynn Leroy Lloyd and his wife, Elisa Marie Lloyd, both 34 and listed as transients, will face up to a year in county jail plus probation after each pleaded guilty to five molestation counts and a charge of conspiracy to commit a crime.

The Lloyds will be formally sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4 in Tuolumne County Superior Court Department 1.

At Tuesday’s hearing, Judge Donald Segerstrom said the victim was not seeking the maximum punishment for the offenses and had even “adopted sympathy” toward the defendants.They go on to site:

I am going to pay attention to this case.  Giving them a year is like a slap in the face to the victim and the community.  Let’s not tolerate this kind of thing. Feel free to contact Judge Segerstrom and voice your opinion. Why are they being so lenient? Look at the cases below.
