The black lines on the map above indicate the portions of the perimeter around the Rim fire that are “contained.” This is good news for everyone in the Twain Harte area, but as you can see in the map below, Yosemite is still suffering, especially in the valley floor along Tioga Road and to the north of Hetch Hetchy Reservoir.

At the time this article is being posted, Inciweb reports that the fire is now 80% contained. The Rim fire has consumed over 237k acres of mostly forest, which makes it the 4th largest fire in California history. At the rate it’s growing, it’ll be the third largest before it’s over.
